Questions
Can I use these pink noise sound effects in a YouTube video or a paid project?
Yes. Every clip here is CC0 or public domain, and both allow use in monetised videos, podcasts, games, apps and client work, with no fee and no need to ask.
Do I need to give credit for these pink noise sound effects?
No. None of these clips require attribution. If you want to credit anyway, the recordings come from BigSoundBank.
What is the difference between white, pink, brown and green noise?
White noise has equal energy at every frequency, so it sounds like a bright hiss. Pink noise drops by half with each octave up, which makes it softer, closer to steady rain. Brown noise drops faster still and sounds like a deep rumble or distant surf. Green noise is an informal name for noise concentrated in the middle of the range, around 500 Hz.
